Outfit Chronicles: Black Eyelet Skirt - Take Two

Ann Taylor Roll Sleeve T-Shirt, French Connection Black Eyelet Skirt, Naturalizer Spectator Pumps

In April I shared what I wore for Easter Sunday.  The outfit included my new favorite piece for spring, a French Connection black eyelet skirt.  The skirt in my outfit post was styled to be dressier for church and a family dinner, today I took that same skirt and gave it a more casual vibe.
This is the same French Connection skirt seen here. The difference is I allowed the the skirt to be the focus of this outfit by tucking the draped Ann Taylor t-shirt in and leaving the the waistline unadorned.  The muted cadet blue and silky texture of the top are a nice contrast to the structured fit and highly textured fabric on the skirt.  All I would need to do to take this outfit from the office to an evening dinner would be to swap out the closed toe shoes for something strappy or with an open toe and add on some chunky jewelry.  Love versatile, neutral pieces that have unique details, it gives the outfit character!

Love the high thick waistband, reminiscent of 50's pencil skirts.

Notice the rolled sleeves with the snap tab, unique details on a very basic piece.

What has been your favorite purchase of this season?  How do you dress it up or dress it down?

  1. This is a very cute skirt! I'm not sure yet what my favourite purchase is... I will have to think about that... maybe my Sam Edelman shoes?
    Much love,
