The countdown is on for this year's
Fashion's Night Out happening on September 8th. With about 6 days left before the big night you might want to set aside some time this weekend to plan your shopping strategy. A little history on the event, it was first staged in 2009 through the partnership of American Vogue, The Council of Fashion Designers of America, NYC &Company, and the City of New York. FNO was designed as a remedy for the slump in consumer spending, to help the fashion industry bolster consumer confidence and "put the fun back in shopping". Since when did fashion need an excuse to party? It looks to be a banner year for FNO with events planned worldwide; from cosmopolitan cities to towns across the US, everyone wants a piece of the fashion action. Even those who don't want to venture out into the fray can get in on the action online. To plan your evening and get more information, including where you can buy
FNO apparel visit the
official FNO website.
I know I will be fashion O'Ding Westchester style, with a stop at the
Westchester Mall in White Plains, New York. The mall has an fun packed evening planned from 6:00 pm -9:00 pm with free samples, demonstrations, raffles and discounts, oh my! For more details on the Fashion's Night Out at the Westchester Mall visit their
website. There are also other cities and towns in Westchester County that have events going on that night in; Pelham, Rye Brook, Scarsdale, White Plains and Yonkers. For a city near you check the
FNO planning page, which allows you to search by state and city, save events to a list and share or print your final schedule.
What are you doing for Fashion's Night Out? Do you have definite plans or are you playing it by ear, or are you bah-humbugging the event entirely? Let me know in the comments section.
I didn't know the Westchester was having a FNO. Thanks for the info.
